The Investment Policy Statement (IPS), more often thought of for institutional investors, can be a valuable guiding document for individual investors and their advisors to insure alignment with their investors priorities, risk tolerances, and personal convictions. The client IPS is an important step in effectively integrating the values of the investor into the investment portfolio, and insuring proper fiduciary stewardship. This session will provide some guidance on how a personal convictions policy can be developed successfully, and how it can help address legal and fiduciary concerns. The session will use practical examples of advisors and clients that have worked together to make that happen.
