Brian Barsness is the Director, Investment Services with Kindred Credit Union, a financial services cooperative dedicated to its purpose to connect values and faith with finances, inspiring peaceful, just, and prosperous communities.
Brian is a recognized investment and wealth management leader with over 25 years of industry experience, including a specialty in socially responsible investing (SRI). Prior to joining Kindred in 2012, Brian was Vice President Sales, Eastern Canada at Otrade Financial Group (now Aviso Wealth) and Vice President Sales and Operations with Meritas SRI Funds, Canada's first faith inspired mutual fund company, where he was instrumental in the development and distribution of their SRI mutual funds across Canada. Brian also worked for World Vision Canada earlier in his career. Under Brian's leadership, Kindred launched the Oiko credit Global Impact GIC and developed Canada's first SRI GIC through a values-based process and a best-in-class social and environmental screening approach to lending decisions.
Brian is a past board member and treasurer of the Responsible Investment Association. A Certified Kingdom Advisor®, Brian leads a local Kingdom Advisors study group. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary and the Canadian Investment Manager designation. Brian lives in Waterloo Region with his wife and two children, where they attend Creekside Church.
As a passionate entrepreneur, John has worked in the B2B software industry for more than fifteen years and has extensive experience as a software-as-a-service CEO building Intrafinity, CivicLive, Talentova, and SharpSchool. John has been recognized with numerous entrepreneurial awards including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, National Research Council’s National Innovation Leader Award, and BDC’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
In 2015, John sold Intrafinity to SchoolMessenger and then led a global technology team serving over 100 million parents and students in the U.S. and Canada. Today, John spends time mentoring, investing and building new businesses with emerging entrepreneurs.
John and his wife Faith have been involved with Matthew House (a refugee reception center), YSM’s Evergreen Youth Drop-in Center, and their local church.

John Cortines is chief operating officer at Generous Giving, with responsibility for internal strategy and operations in sharing the biblical message of generosity. A native of Texas, John began his career as a petroleum engineer, spending time everywhere from the sand dunes of Saudi Arabia to the offshore platforms of the Gulf of Mexico. While studying at Harvard Business School, he began a journey of discovery on the intersection of faith and wealth, which culminated in a decision to leave behind a lucrative post-MBA job to work, speak, and write full-time on generosity. His most recent book is "True Riches: What Jesus Really Said About Money and Your Heart," while his first book is "God and Money." Greg Baumer is the co-author of both books.
John's greatest blessing in life comes from being married to his beautiful and gracious wife, Megan, and sharing in the joy of their three young children, Jack, Anna, and Lydia. John is a graduate of Harvard Business School (MBA, 2015), King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia (MS, Earth Science, 2011), and Texas A&M University (BS, Chemical Engineering, 2010).

In 2013, Ian and his wife unexpectedly embarked on a generosity adventure. Ian will describe both the practical and spiritual impact of their journey of generosity. Ian is a business transition coach, helping people to actively pursue purposeful direction in the midst of the complex emotions, relationships, and money when ownership and authority are changing. Ian is a Chartered Professional Accountant and the author of an upcoming book about intimacy with God.

In his practice, Leander has found a calling to help countless families and organizations establish charitable foundations and maximize their donations to impact the world around them in the most positive and meaningful ways. Ruby Lougheed Yawney
Ruby is a highly trained professional with over 25 years of experience in helping people make wise decisions about their finances. Ruby graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree, double major in ﬁnance and accounting, minor in economics. Ruby is currently a Senior Financial Advisor at Manulife Securities Incorporated in Sudbury and has completed her Certified Financial Planner®, Certified Investment Manager, Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute and Christian Financial Counsellor designations. She is also a Chartered Accountant.
Ruby is very involved in giving back to her community and has served in many leadership roles in several professional and charitable organizations. Because Ruby believes that wealth can be created by owning a business, she works passionately as an Ambassador with Opportunity International (part of Make Poverty History) helping to give the poorest of the poor a hand up instead of a handout by helping them to start and grow their own businesses.

Lorne Robinson is the National Director for Kingdom Advisors in Canada. Lorne has more than 30 years experience including the role of financial planner and pastor. His passion is to inspire others to find their purpose and live out their calling through their work. With his knowledge of Biblical stewardship, he helps people find a deeper purpose in their financial dealings providing an eternal perspective. Lorne and his wife Cathy now live near Ottawa, Ontario and are proud parents and new grandparents.
Abe is a chartered financial consultant with Beyond Wealth Management in Regina specializing in business transition planning. He has been associated with Beyond Wealth since January 2012. Before that he was the President of his own firm, StoneCreek Financial Group started in 1999 after a 15 year career in agency management with Mutual Life of Canada and Great-West Life. He ended his management career as the Regional Director for South Saskatchewan with Great-West Life. He holds the CFP, CLU, CH.F.C., CHS and ICD.D designations. He is an active member of CALU, Kingdom Advisors, Canadian Association of Farm Advisors and the Institute of Corporate Directors. Abe is the Chair of the Advocis - The Financial Advisors Association of Canada board and has also served as the Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary of that board.
