This practical follow-up to Part 1 focuses on how to open the legacy plan discussion, along with the basics of creating a legacy plan. Learn how to help families begin to work on family vision, mission and values statements. Fairness is typically a concern when considering children and grandchildren, and this session includes explanation of why fair treatment does not always mean equal treatment. Tom Conway is president of Conway & Associates, a philanthropic advisory firm that works with ministries, churches, and givers to advance the grace of giving. Tom is a CPA with a tax planning background who has served Ernst & Young, Cru, Ronald Blue Trust, Perimeter Church, Generous Giving, Inc., National Christian Foundation, Kingdom Advisors, and Haggai International. Tom is also a Certified Kingdom Advisor®. He has lived and served in Africa and worked in Central Europe, Russia, and Asia. Tom and his wife, Susan, have four children and ten grandchildren and live in Atlanta.
Bill High is the chief executive officer of The Signatry, in the Kansas City area. Bill is also the founder of iDonate.com, a fundraising software company serving the non-profit community, as well as being the founder of Christian Foundation Grants, a member-based service available to Christian non-profits and churches. He is the president of Generous Life, a legacy consulting organization with the aim of making generosity generational. Bill is also a published author and a conference speaker. Prior to joining The Signatry in 2000, he was a partner with the law firm of Blackwell Sanders LLP. Bill has been married to his wife, Brooke, for more than 25 years and they are the parents of four children.
Frank Mullins is president of Legacy Wealth Counselors, which specializes in creating values-based family legacy books and videos fo facilitate the generational transfer of individual family values. He helps to prepare beneficiaries for the responsibilities that come with financial inheritance through facilitated family meetings and retreats, family business succession planning, multi-generational planning, and family stewardship and multi-generational charitable giving.
